The HPI SS and AE .12 engines have similar horsepower so it would probably be pretty close.

You misunderstood. I say any car (belts or shaft) are good for racing. I am also saying that belts or shaft are good for parking lot and belts are not that bad for parking lot.

The potential of shaft is not there for gearing purposes that is why more companies does not adopt to this setup.

ok

I just say that belts are bad for parking lot from the area around me, there is alot of gravel, my RS4 2 wouldn't last more than a few minutes without getting jammed. Maybe my streets are more "gravelly" than most

Such a broad, general statement.

Define "out do"

you are talking about the 2-speed, so I assume you mean top speed. Why is everyone so obsessed with top speed. I mean, sure, its cool, but its not useful, really.

Anyway, I have never seen any reliable source indicate how fast an RTR NTC3 would be with a 2-speed in it, but I have seen reports of a stock SS doing 46mph. I would be surprised if an RTR NTC3 with a 2-speed would do much more than that.

This question is getting beaten to death. Just go look at the cars and see which one you like better.

I wouldn't buy the Fusion because I want to be able to race this thing once I get it sorted out. I have the SS and its got some wierd power issues.

I would buy the NTC3, but its going to cost more to buy a NTC3 Team kit and an engine.

Default just a heli guy

i just fly heli's so take this for what it's worth:

my heli runs with a 0S 32sxh engine. it has both a shaft drive(main rotor) and a belt drive(tail rotor). they both can be set up to give you SCREAMING speed and torque. the rc car manufacturers use belt drives mainly for two reasons(both of these reasons are cost effective for the manufacturer).

1. belt systems are much easier to engineer

2. belt systems are much easier to manufacture.

just thought i'd jump into a different forum for a change

Yes it side exaust kit comes with a pipe and header, and no it doesn't come with a 2 speed, I believe they go about 40mph stock.
