Default some thoughts on glue..

my son drifted into a large rock (in scale size, lets call it a boulder) today and it broke part of the chassis that holds the rear wheel assembly clean off.
super glue doesnt seem to be holding it.
any idea what type of glue would bond the plastic good?
gorilla glue was my first thought but that foams up so much im afraid it will be exessive.
a new chassis is 30 on ebay.
was hoping to give a good glue a shot first before we spend the money and 2 weeks waiting
thanks!

zap is super glue is cyanoacrylate(CA). If superglue doesn't work, neither will ZAP. If CA doesn't work, try epoxy. If epoxy doesn't work, try replacing the part. Frankly, I've never had much luck trying to glue the nylon composites most r/c car chassis are made from. I'd order a new one, and experiment in the mean time.

As Buzz said, the nylon componant wont take any kind of glue very well. I've tried CA glue, epoxy, model cement and have had no luck with long term repairs. Never tried Gorilla glue so I don't know but I'd bet it won't hold well either. I to would go ahead and order the new part and experiment on the old one.
Good luck

Now, what exactly did you break?
The aluminum chassis itself or the plastic suspension arm?

I use gorilla glue all the time for work related stuff and the stuff is pretty damn good at bonding just about anything. It's worth a shot while you wait I guess.

the only problem i have is he broke the part of the chassis where the rear suspension arms screw in.
i can see thru the broken plastic into the actual drivetrain gearing.
im afraid that the gorilla glue will foam up into the gearing and screw the whole car
