Default Charger for 8.4v 5,000 mah packs

I have 2 old school tower hobby chargers like this one. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJC34&P=ML I have always had 1500mah 7.2 v batteries for my black foot. With the new e maxx i got the biggest ones i could but i don't think my charger is going to work to well on them. Is there a good cheap charger out there that will charge 5.000mah batteries 2 at once would be nice but. Untill i get one how long do you think i should charge them with the old ones. I dont want to go lipo it is just to much money and hassle for now. Thanks in advance

Well that charger you linked to is for NiCd batteries only and your 5000mAh batteries are NiMH. You will need a new charger rated for NiMH regardless. [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTCK2&P=0]THIS CHARGER[/link] will charge two batteries at once and has a nice price. Anyway you go want you want is a nice peak charger, not a timed charger.

This may or may not be "cheap" http://www.modelrectifier.com/search...ew.asp?ID=1908

Your old charger is 5 amps so it'll deliver 5000 mah in 1 hr OR 1250mah every 15 minutes. Does that make sense?

I use the MRC Superbrain 977 that Guver listed and I love it. The price in his link is way too high though. You should be able to buy that charger for between $100-110. I paid $110 for mine new at my LHS. It will work great for your batteries.

Buy a Tekin 112c charger and be done with it. You can find a used one for $50. make sure the firmware charging software is H28 or higher. It will be the late charger you buy unless you go lipo.
