Default Seems like an easy decision BUT....

I cannot decide I want to get a new RC to be able to run while I am waiting on my slash to charge. My 2 options are:

A duratrax raze with a losi 427 engine and a JR X3i radio for $150

-OR-

A micro desert truck with lipo and brushless for about $185

I know it seems obvious to get the buggy (witch will more than likely happen) but I just wanted to know if the micro desert trucks are as fun as bashing/racing an 8th scale buggy?

I'd go for the Raze for $150, that's a great deal if it's in good condition. You can throw as much money as you want at a micro scale RC, but in the end it can't handle most terrain anyway.

well that depends, are you going to be waiting around indoors or out? and if indoors, how big is the room you would play with it in? The losi micros are awesome indoors, but no fun at all one you get in a space bigger than about 15x15.....

Or did you mean a losi MINI desert truck? That one is 1/18 scale (the micro is 1/36) In that case its a tougher call... on one hand a gas buggy would be awesome, but on the other hand, a brushless mini is also awesome, AND you can run it indoors and in much smaller outdoor spaces (and later at night)....

If it were me, I would get the raze for the sheer cheapness of it, and then get the mini desert truck later

the micro desert truck would be for speed runs in my street and jumping in my house. I am gunna go with the raze tho because it is so cheap and I have wated a 1/8 buggy since I got into rc

The raxe seems like a bit of a clone of the hyper 7, is that right?

Okay so we ruled out the mdt but here is my next decision.....

Buy the raze which will be my first nitro

-or-

Put brushless, lipo, aluminum shocks, rpm arms, and nice radio in my slash.

I want all this because my favourite things is going around the track and hitting huge jumps

Well, if you race your slash you cannot modify it.

That is the one thing I don't like is that no one does mod classes but the last major race my local track had, they didn't even have a spec slash class so I will really just be going around the track for fun unless I get the buggy.

Oh and how is throttle control in the air on a brushless slash compared to a buggy?

A buggy will react extremely quicker because it is 4wd.
