Wow, alot of "top speed" E-maxx questions as of late, i'm not really sure what "monster one the oone before it " means, but the top stock speed on 2 six cell batts should be in the 18-25 mph range depending on the quality of the battery and gearing. Cheapy low mah batts on the slower end and higher quality on the top end.

Using those electronics in the E-maxx? Don't - a single VXL system won't work right in an Emaxx.

You need a bigger motor, something for 1/8 scale. The VXL is a 1/10 scale motor.

And if you want the true potential of a brushless motor, get Lipo's not NiMH. Day/night difference.

If you're talking about using your velineon system in an e-maxx.........all things are possible but you'd have to gear it so low that it would go about 25...........in other words its not made for it. I'm starting to gather that you may be on a tight budget (arent we all) so if you want a system that will run your e-maxx 40+ then consider this one:

AND i would get these lipos for it: ( you will need two) http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s..._20C_Lipo_Pack

OR, if you want a brushless system that has been known for its high qualty and perfomance then go for the castle 2200kv monster.
