Where to connect the throttle return spring
I tested the spring to see if it works by pressing the throttle to full and then disconnecting the receiver battery. The throttle is still at full. Any ideas on where to connect the spring? This is how it's connected right now.

RE: Where to connect the throttle return spring
That is a horrible place for the return spring, it looks like it is rubbing on the flywheel. It also looks like a manifold spring, return springs are shorter, no longer than an inch. The purpose of the return spring is to return the engine to idle as you decelerate and apply the brakes. If you were to pull on the throttle link it should snap back to idle as you let go. The return spring itself is not really strong enough to pull a servo back to idle if you were to lose signal, that is not it purpose. You need a failsafe.

RE: Where to connect the throttle return spring
if my battery gets disconected or receiver batt gets too low my throttle return spring will turn the servo to idle position...
if i loose signal or turn off my transmitter my failsafe will turn my servo to idle positon...
get a shorter spring or hook it somewhere else farther

RE: Where to connect the throttle return spring
No failsafe here in 9 years of nitro. Not needed if you're up on your RC maintenance.
OP, most throttle return springs won't work against the resistance of the servo to close the throttle. The reason most throttle return springs exist is to close the throttle in the event that the throttle linkage comes apart.

RE: Where to connect the throttle return spring
I use the Spektrum DX3E that has a built in fail safe. It's not touching the fly wheel. I've ran the truck with the spring. It's a Redcat Monsoon XP.
