Default Receiver aerial repair

Hi Guys

Took my schumacher xtr out for its first propper rag after running her in yesterday. I loast one of the wheely bar mounts so took it off as I didn't have an m6 nut and bolt to hand (will steal one or 2 from work). But it flipped up on to the back wheels the wind got under her and she flipped turtle...skidded on her back backwards for 5 meters (15 feet) of so.

As you have probably guess the aerial straw and the wire core ground through. Is it ok to simply solder a new length of multi core wire to repair it. Is it possible to use a solid aerial, summet tough and springy?

As long as your total length is the same as it was originally either a new wire or combination of wire and stiff antenna will work. IE if you had 19 inches before and now want a 10 inch high solid antenna you still need to have 9 inches of wire to go with the 10 inches of solid wire.
