I'm looking to become a cnc milling machine programmer I want to use the 3 and 4 axis machines I'm looking to completly replicate my Sprint 2 Sport out of nothing but aluminum and use as little plastic parts as I can then anodize the whole thing purple

Even something like billet aluminum? I thought it would lay less.... but I mainly drive by myself but it would be fun even if it was heavy

You're right with the weight, there is a chassis out there, the EP XR that is all aluminum and it comes in at 750grams, some of their plastic chassis come in over 800grams so I guess it can be done.

I ran into a guy who made some aluminum suspension arms for a sprint 2 and they came out good, when are you going to school?

My dad was a machinist, he was fooling around with a Grizzly 3 axis miller back in its infancy, though he never got to work on PC controlled millers, everything was manually done in his day. I got my hands on abilities and got a bunch of tools from him, there is no greater feeling than seeing a finished product out of a slab of material. Best to you with this!!!!!

I am going to start school next year after the summer I have just this year left to finnish highschool. I'm not sure if ITT tech offers CNC Milling Programming but I know there are schools for that, and that was just my first choice of school so I'm going to look into that more because I know the basics of AutoCad and sketchup. So it wont be to hard, and being able to make my own RC parts is the main reason I want to do it I just need to find someone who can anodize for me. I would really like to get Hpi's Sprint 2 3D models directly from them so I could just load it into the milling machine and bam rc car is done in a few days hours whatever. I know there would be a lot of copywright issues but I'm willing to sign a contract or anything saying I wont use them for anything but absolutely for myself I would not want that legal team coming after my arse....
