Default evader gear questions

I just bought an evader at a thrift store for 50 bucks all it needed was a spur gear. I purchased 3 different ones and two different pinion gears. I want it to be somewhat faster than stock but not run to hot so will this combination work to achieve that. A 48p 88t spur gear with a 48p 23t pinion gear. That pinon gear when its installed leaves just enough room in conjunction with the spur gear. I believe the spur gear is close to stock size. I have the ability to go smaller on the spur 78t or 86t both smaller than the stock spur gear. and pinion I have the one above which is rather large or i can go with the stock one. not sure what the tooth count is on it. or i can also go with one smaller still. also not sure what the tooth count is on that one either. Any opinions using these 6 gears in what combination to achieve my goal of slightly faster than stock and not going to hot. Also the motor will be switched out from a 20 turn brushed motor to a 17 turn brushed motor.

If your sticking to brushed, then a torquier ratio is more preferable. I would suggest 88/23 or 86/20. (Spur # of Teeth/Pinion # of Teeth) You can also ask these type of questions here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-e...rt-2-a-47.html I saw you posted there once. The Evader Coalition is kinda like a single thread that has it all for Evaders. There is usually someone there to help you out. Other non-related to Evader subjects get put in the sub-forum in which is where this one is located. Hope that answers your question though. If it was a brushless system, then those brushless motors can usually pull a lot more, thus a faster machine with a speedier ratio. Brushless is the way to go most of the time.

thanks I tried that evader thread before it was so packed i couldnt find my own post after i posted it lol. this truck will probably stay brushed for a while simply because i have a new ripper st same basic truck but i am upgrading that one to brushless first it will be my trial run. Then if it works well and a smooth transition for me I will do the evader brushless too.

Oh. Feel free to randomly speak your case whenever your on, that's what I do. It's kind of like having a couple conversations going all at once. Just be sure to pay attention who your talking with on what subject so you don't get mixed up in the other conversations. Everyone there cares about your Evader problems and wants to help, that's what they are there for. Happy posting!
