Default Race Weekend

Anybody racing this weekend, when and what time? I'll be racing in Grand Blanc Michigan at AMS with my new Traxxas Slash. I can't wait to give it a try and test it out

Welcome to the boards, Casey! Hope you have a great time. There's a bloke on here from Michigan, goes by DieHarder. Might look him up.

I actually replied to your thread cuz I saw your sig, that said you're a Caster Racing team driver. I'd never heard of Caster till I saw a review of their 1/18 scale short course truck. Looks like it is built pretty well, but like I said, I'd never read or heard about them before, so it was an un-known quantity. So tell me a little about them.

Very good and very durable brand. They make 1:8 and smaller buggies and also have a 1:10 short course truck. The vehicles are very fast with brushless systems and insane when adding lipos along with the brushless

Which Slash? 2wd/4wd? LCG chassis?

I would love to get back into racing, but I'm holding out for a ST class comeback. I don't know why I never got into SC, probably all my efforts were being put into a band at the time SC was taking off. Along with me getting home @ 4a.m. after a show; not being able to get up in time to head out to race buggies, I lost interest in racing altogether.

I would like to hear how you did at the track and what class you had the Slash in. The Tower Hobbies 4wd SCT is on my wish list and if a kit comes out and handles well...who knows... I may have to venture into racing a SC vehicle since giving up "the band" thing.

I'm also curious to know the classes of vehicles at the track you are going to.

I finished 5th in Novice since I'm new to this. The track I went to has the following classes: Novice, Stock SC trucks, Open SC trucks, 4wd SC trucks, Stock Buggies, Open Buggies, 4wd Buggies, open truggies, 4wd truggies, and 1:8 scale. I have a 2wd slash and no lcg kit yet but need one at the track I was at. Most people race Losi there but I noticed a lot of the were breaking

You say 4wd Truggies... 1/8th scale or 1/10th?

I only ask 'cause EXT2Rob has me looking at those 1/10th scale Ofna Hyper10-TT truggies that I like the looks of so much and wish the closest race track around my parts would have a 1/10th scale Truggy class.

There are 1:8 scale truggies but a few companies have 1;10 scale also or people will put a truggie body on a buggy frame
