Team Associate ProSc10 2wd rtr vs Kyosh0 SC6 2wd rtr
I'm looking to add a backyard basher/racer to my backyard track and I'm looking at a RTR 2wd sct. One has a mid motor and seems nice like the Kyosho, it also has a weird engine/esc combo. I'm also considering the TA that's a great platform, both brushless. My track is a huge hard packed dirt with dusty conditions and because i don't want to spend $200 extra the 2wd slash is out of the question. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I used to race the older Kyosho Ultima SC5 and that was a great platform, without a doubt I would go with the mid motor layout if you want to be more competitive, as far as RTR's go you can't find anything on the market that will be more competitive out of the box than the SC6.
If you plan to run your track dry, then I would recommend getting a 4WD which will be phenomenally easier to drive, but 2WD will do just fine so long as you water your track about 10-15 minutes before each use. Another track secret is to mix some watered down liquid laundry detergent into the soil for the jumps to help them hold shape, this will act like "dirt glue" and also spray some detergent onto any areas with high speed turns to help improve traction. Use a pump style garden sprayer with about 4 parts water to 1 part liquid detergent.
Good Luck!
