Default what tires/wheels for Talion

Just got back into the RC scene. Ive been in and out for 35 years or better. I just got back to it and bought a new Talion and a Spektrum s2100 bundle. 2nd run on it and I stripped out a hex on the wheel. I mainly just bash and run up and down the street. But since I have to buy a new set of wheels and tires I figured Id get a few opinions on them before coughing up the $. I would be happy if I had just a touch more ground clearance so a slightly larger tire would be cool. Will a NON belted tire hold up for bashin on 6S Recommendations???

I am confused by you wanting more ground clearance for mainly running up and down the street, but Arrma Backflips would be my 2nd choice after stock Talion tires. Perhaps look into the issue as to why your wheel hex stripped. I would recommend using thread lock on the wheel nuts, and let it cure for extra security.

I've been running Proline MX 38 belted. Well worth the extra cash. I replaced the shocks and springs with heavy duty units with heavy springs. I've been bashing mine regularly for 12 months now. Louise make decent belted 3.8 inch tire/wheel combos in both MT and ST width. But running em on 6s is beyond their specifications.

Just a thought mate. Have you considered getting a couple of 4s packs for park and street bashing? The things are still crazy fast and pop wheelies, but they are A LOT more economical. EG Proline 6s belted tires are $250 a set as opposed to Louise 4s belted at around $180 (Aussie prices but the point remains.. This theme carries on throughout many parts.

BTW you mentioned that you were back in the hobby after 35 years? What was your first rig? Mine was a Kyosho Scorpion.
