Default New Motor Question

Hey guys i recently got a RC10T4 by associated it is a nice car, btw its electric. Well i got in on christmas and a couple days ago i got a motor and yesterday i installed it, it is the p2k motor by TRINITY. Well i havent really noticed a difference in speed compared to the stock one now is this normal? mabye its just me and im not seeing a speed difference but i was told by the guy at my local hobby shop that it should increase the speed to 20-25.. so anyways ive also noticed that it sometimes cuts out and like when i push the throttle the engine wont go... and then i turn it off and it works again, it doesnt happen all the time but sometimes and its really annoying.. anyways thanks for the help in advance guys.
