Default IB 3800 pack size

I would really like to get an IB 3800 stick pack for my tamiya blackfoot extreme truck. But, i read in rc car action they are a bit bigger than a regular 3300 cell pack. Will a IB 3800 stick pack fit in my truck??? thanks

I've had issues with them fitting my RC10DS, nothing a dremel won't fix. I belive it's primarily due to the cap the build into the pack where the wires exit. They are a tad larger, but I'm unfamiliar with the Blackfoot's battery layout.

Boom Boom Batteries can make you a Shotgun Pack out of 3800s (it's the same as a Stick, but with higher quality joints). I'm pretty sure that it will fit wherever an old stick pack would...

The IB3800 cells are definitely larger than GP3300 cells both by length and diameter. Will they still fit in your Blackfoot? Depends. As someone mentioned a little work with a dremel will probably provide enough room. I recently helped someone dremel a Traxxas Rustler to get a side-x-side pack of GP3700s to fit cleanly in their truck, yet their old stick packs easily fit without any problems. Side-x-side packs of GP3700s easily fit in my T4, however I have to force a similar pack of IB3800s into the truck. That's with the same battery bars on both packs. Be cautious of across-the-board statements that IB3800s will fit without any problems.

When it comes to sxs packs it depends alot who soldered it and what bars they used. Now if you got n00b building your packs then the bars are going to stick out a half a mile and not fit in anthing. You got Matt Francis or Boom Boom making your packs those bars are going to hug those cells like I would miss Hilton.See what Imgettign at?Best thing to do is get your pack and see.If you need to hack away but I dont like the idea of taking a power tool to my 400$ car....Choice is yours.

Do you mean solder joints like this? As I said, the same bars and the same solder quality for both types of packs and the IB3800s were a much tighter fit.

As I said before, the vehicle that I noticed the difference in cell size was a T4. The GP3700s fit easily, the IB3800s are a tight fit. Yes the pack in the photo is mine, yes the solder joints are real and yes I hand soldered them. I can produce solder joints like that all day long.
