I just bought a used reedy 19t quad mag. I put it on my rustler and it was a good bit faster than the stinger it came with but, reverse was very slow. Do you guys think it is the motor or esc? It has never done this with the Stinger.

Oh, aslo the people before me cut the tab on it so you could adjust the timing. What sould I set it on? Could the timing have anything to do with the slow reverse?

1. the qm should be quite a bit faster than the stinger and 2, the yiming is set at posotive 24*, so you will tend to get alot more reverse speed than forwands.

I think they make most esc's to go slow in reverse. It slows down the wear on the esc and gears in the car. If you are going WOT in reverse and slam it into forward it can ruin gears.

You can retard the timing on the motor to help the speed in reverse, but it won't be the same speed as the stock Stinger unless you set the timing at 0 degree's. Turning the timing back will help reverse performance, but hurt foward performance.
It's not your ESC though. Thats just how mod motors are. If you want good reverse, then your gonna have to stick with the stock motor (or get brushless).
