That charger sucks for anything but nicads, those nicad chargers do get pretty hot, if you can't even hold it for at least maybe 8 seconds without pain, something is wrong. If you can hold it that long, just let it cool every once in a while and it should be okay.

Let it cool down for 10 or so minutes before charging another pack. That type of charger (timed) is the lowest form of charger out there. I would look at upgrading as soon as you an afford it., your batteries will like it and so will you.

The fan is a great idea. What about putting it on ice (given that you'd put some kind of absorbtive layer between the ice and the charger to negate possible condensation shorts)? I'm sure the fan will do the trick, though.

If you guys haven't heard of fans for the chargers, you haven't heard much at all! Just joking with ya.

I got my charger in front of a fan and it has no problem charging 2 pairs of batteries 1 after another.

yup I just charged 4 batteries in a row with a fan in front and it was only just getting warm!!! The fan should do the trick, I think ice would be messy and you'd always need to buy more
