Im fairly new to electric cars, I have aquaired about 6 batterys, I was just wondering how many chargers should I get. How many do you guys usally use at the track. How long does it usally take to charge a 3300 pack. Also, what is the methods that I should do to charger the batterys, Like after I charge them to run it in the car should I wait until its cooled down and then run it in the car. Also after Im dont running it what should I do. Should I discharge it, how far should I go on the discharger. Do you guys usally charge the same batterys and charge them or do you go threw one at a time.

I only race at the track I built in my backyard, so electricity is never an issue. My son, my dad and I race on Sundays and we have 40 batteries. We use anywhere between 4 and 8 chargers depending how soon we want to get started. We have two Duratrax dual peak chargers, two Mrc Super Brain 959's, a Duratrax Ice, a Quasar, and a Duratrax pulse charger. We always wait until the batteries are cool before we run them. We run them until the cars slow down, but not until they stop. Depending on what kind of batteries they are we discharge them every five cycles or so. We have been using some of these batteries for five years and they still seem fine to us.

I have 2 AC / DC chargers and one AC only. The last thing I want to do when I go out for a day of bashing is wait for batteries to charge (lol).

I have TWO duratrax Intellipeak Twin-Pulse chargers. So I can charge a bunch of crap all at once! Both are set up with tamiya plug on charger 1 and Dean's on charger 2.

I use this one:

It charges upto 40 cells and I put my stick packs in a series and charge 4 to 6 packs at a time.

I use one charger, the ICE. I charge the night before racing or practice and peak at the track. I have one pack for each qualifier (3) and one for the main. I don't usually charge a battery more than once in a day, and they are holding up nicely. I do discharge packs that were used for racing, but I don't use an equalizer. I just discharge my 6-cell packs to around 7 volts. Being that I use my packs once or twice a week, it's good to leave a little juice in there. When I run a pack down, playing or practiceing, I stop as soon as I notice a drop in performance. I recently purchased two 6000Mah LiPo packs. I charged those a couple of days before a practice day and took them to the track (and no charger). I tried to time it and was near an hour of runtime (not all at once, of course), when I had to leave. So we'll see, if these LiPo's work out, I'll just be charging at home.

Most sponsored racers who get all of their packs before a race only have 1 charger... Why? Because they charge at 8 amps... They want all the power they can get NOW.

I have a Triton and a Duratrax Pirana AC/DC Digtal Peak Charger (backup). I don't drive too often anymore, so having two chargers is more than enough.

I have 2 chargers. They are 2 Reedy Quasar Pro Chargers. They are very fast and easy to use. I also use a Novak Smart Tray to equalize.
