Default Dual Mamba Max Power Wheels Escalade

Thought you all might like to see what we come up with @ CC. This is what we brought to the I Hobby Expo in Chicago this year...a dual Mamba Max powered Escalade!!! As my co-worker Shawn said, "All you need for a successful trade show is one good idea.........and then JUMP IT!!!"

Joe,
brother you guys have to sell or share the desing for doing that. that looks like the perfect project for a power wheels for my soon to arrive little one...i had heard about ppl putting brushless motors in them, but that is insane. hook me up with some details.

Now, if CC could get the Mamba Max 5700 Systems to B-P-P.com so that they could ship me the one I ordered, instead of making brushless Powerwheels... I'd be happy! Just kidding. Interesting concept for maybe 1/3 scale?

Joe, did you guys try running any kids in that thing (Would it have been powerful enough?)? You could charge a few bucks like a pony ride...on the extreme side!

On youtube.com there are a bunch of guys that put dual 7700 mambas in a barbie jeep. One guy actually rides in the barbie jeep while the other guy is controlling. I wonder if the warranty covers that? ok just kidding. I've also got my second mamba on order too.

That's awesome.. jumping it.. LOL!!

But what I want to know is, howcome Tower is not getting any Mamba Max system.. consider that it is one of the biggest shops (if not the biggest) around.. is there something going on between CC and Tower..

I am sure Tower drives a hard bargin due to its size.. and CC can't really just say no to Tower either as it would be one of its biggest customers..

Hmm..

All I know is, I have pre-ordered the 7700kv since July and I still haven't seen it yet... [:@]

hemiblas...that was US...Shawn Palmer (my co-worker) is the one riding it. One of our engineers is working the throttle, and I'm the one w/the radar gun (jumping out of the way at one point). This video. http://media.putfile.com/CC-Mamba-Ma...ed-Barbie-Jeep

Nitro/Lunch...We're making the Max's as fast as possible...orders are coming in FAST. These were taken from the engineers (test setups)...not stock. We've been sending them out as fast as we can make them.

Nitro...NO WAY we're putting a kid in there. LOL It was doing 18mph with Shawn in it (around 200lbs total)...we couldn't get the wheels to hook up as they're plastic, but we estimate a top speed around 25-30mph. We'll be putting some traction on the wheels and gunning it soon. Stay tuned!

I've seen the barbie video, it mentions in the beginning it's powered by a 4 cell lithium polymer, thus voiding warranty.

Yes it was 4s lipo...but technically none of this would be covered under warranty. These are 1/10th scale systems...not 1/3rd scale.

EDIT: BTW, thought I should add...the Barbie Jeep weighed 40lbs and Shawn weighs 160lbs. Estimated power output between the two systems is over 2000 watts...probably much higher...maybe we'll toss a datalogger in there to see what they're really doing.

That wasn't really my question.. I guess my question was more, howcome Tower does not get any.. like zero... yet.. (so I was told by Tower.. unless they are lying to me.. )

Seems strange that smaller retailers have gotten them already... (maybe got some, then sold out..) But Tower has not gotten any..

Just seems like there's something political going on there... LOL! Maybe I am thinking too much...

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the Mamba Max soon, I hope!!

Hmmm...well I'm not in sales so I don't really know if they've gotten any (nor could I release that info if I knew). I can tell you we are sending out the systems in the order they were received. Nothing political going on at all...why would we want to keep our products out of their hands you know? I truly hope you get your hands on one soon.

sleepy...LOL

zephar...I use a rubber band to hold mine in the "on" position when in use...only use the switch to program/calibrate. Haven't snapped one off yet. If you want, send them in and I'll get them repaired at no charge for you. Just put a copy of my post in with your ESC's and put "Attn: Joe Ford" on it...I'll take care of the rest.

as always you guys have amazingly fast support and its awsome. I was not posting this for that reason I knwo youll replace them. I cant sacrfice the time to have them sent in . Im saygin that guys really need to invest in some better switches lol. I hope that dont soudn insulting buy plastic snaped on both of em and like you said on jumps they seem to turn off. Maybe i should just glue em on lol. btw if I replace them with new switched by spliceing em on the wire instead of soldering them on the board is that ok in the warranty?

Once again read post i back mamba every day heck im payhing for my brothers mamba thats 3 =). I love your product at my track they make the nitro angry because i can lap them all day long. Heck one of the guys is gopign back into eletric and buying another mamba =)

I think everyone and their mother had an order in at tower or omni. I had one and cancelled it cause it took so long. My advice is if you want one bad enough(which I did), I called my local hobby store and they had 5 in stock. Go figure, I guess no one goes there anymore. Tower probably has like 500 of these things backordered with a 20 dollar off coupon and these guys distribute them equally. I have another ordered with b-p-p and they are waiting for them too. they are on backorder at hobbypeople also. I dont think these guys realized how popular they would be. Its funny too cause I had just bought and run twice a spere and neo 2 motor. I sold it on ebay to get my mamba. I didnt believe the hype so I ran my mamba before putting the associated on ebay and its not even close. I had to gear the neo way down cause I was overheating with the 24t gear my ss5800 was running. I gained a bunch of rpm but lost the torque. The mamba puts them both to shame.

You won't void the warranty if you replace the switches by snipping the wires and splicing the new switch on. You only void the warranty if you unsolder it from the board and solder the new switch in it's place. Let me know if I can EVER be of assistance.

Because you got a hot product in hand and you don't need to bow down to the big customer like Tower..... yet.. as you are selling all the system that you can build right now... and Tower is asking for discount due to its size / volume.. you know.. things like that.. typical business stuff...

I don't know.. I am just curious...

Lunch, that's a lot of assumptions about the dealings between Tower and Castle. They're all based on your premise that Castle has been holding Tower's orders and shipping every other shop's. And that's incorrect - no dealer can get Mamba Maxes right now.

I have to say that I personally would like to see every manufacturer tell Tower to shove it. I have never gotten anything from them even close to on time with the exception on the catalog and flier. They can sure send those out fast. Besides I would rather deal with a B-P-P or RC Boys or any number of the smaller guys even if they cost a little more money. At least you are dealing with person at them not a big machine. Also I feel that Tower has sometimes alternate motives at times. Anyone tried to get Apogee LiMn Magnum batteries recently. Very hard to do. Because Tower has locked them up with a huge order. I have heard it from more than one source that Tower has a habit of making massive first orders with severe plenties if you do not meet goals. These problems have caused more than one company to fold only to be bought by the machine. I have not seen this personally but I have had 3 different sources from separate areas of the country tell me almost the same thing.

LOL Now you're thinking on our level Nitronutt!!! We were just talking about that!!! Friday afternoon Power Wheels races at the Castle. But we're thinking 6v batteries instead of 12v to help keep the gearboxes together. Plus it's a little hard to control them with the stock wheels (and we don't want more grip...it's too much fun powersliding!!!).

Inverted...for more info on our Mamba Max go to our website, click on products, then Mamba Max. The 4600 is more power than a 12T, the 5700 is more than a 9T, and the 7700 is more than a 4T. These can be geared a little more aggressively than brushed motors though...as long as the motor stays under 200F you're good to go. The best part is, there's no maintenance...the motor should last forever. If you have any other questions I'll be more than happy to answer them for you.
