Default Bad XL-5?

How can I tell if my Stampede's XL-5 ESC is crapping out?[&:]

When I gun the throttle, the motor just sits there and jiggles fast. If I throw it into reverse then it will run fine. If I smoothly advance the throttle then the truck will accelerate ok but it will still kinda choke if you know what I mean. It does this same thing if put on the stand and let run off the ground. I am not sure if it is the motor or the ESC.

Its not the esc um you sure that the motor is not clogged?

I will check it but I have not run it in dirt yet. I just got this a little while ago. Used.

try testing you motor to make sure by touching the motor plugs directly to you battery plugs that will get the motor instant power to simulate instant throttle make sure the motor is out of the car and you match the - with the - and the + with the + good luck.
