Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble when mixing a different motor with a Novak gtx esc. Here's the story:

I recently purchased an Orion 13.5 vortex brushless motor new. I got all excited because I had heard that the orion had alot more torque and revved faster than the Novak velocity 13.5 SS.[>:] I got home and the first thing I did was take my Novak motor off the gtx and add the Orion. The directions tell me the motor was compatable with ALL SENSORED ESC'S.

I installed a fresh Lipo, and tried it.... All I got was a "cogging" out of the Orion motor. I figured that maybe the motor was bad so I reinstalled my motor..... "cogging" out of my Novak motor.[:@] Now I know it worked before... but not now.

I figured maybe it was just time for the esc to fail.[&o] I took my other gtx esc and removed the ex 13.5 sport brushless motor and... you guessed it: installed the Orion........ "Cogging" again!!![:'(] So, I reinstalled my sport 13.5................ And, Guess what..? it "COGGED" Too!!!!![:@]

Now, I have 2 very espensive paperweights (LOL) which incidently; don't work well for that either! I

I called Orion CS, and they will fix the motor, but won't say anything about the esc's. I called Novak... $55.00 repair each esc![X(] I sent the motor to Orion with the 2 esc's. Let's see what happens.[8D]

FYI the Novak gtx is BRUSHED ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok.. I thought the gtb was brushed only and the gtx was both. ?

no, gtx is only brushed, gtb is both.

ok, so have you ever heard of a cogging motor ruining an esc? usually to switch back, you find no harm. I barely gave it a bump of throttle before I changed back.
