Default Gearing?

How do I know what pinion gear to used? Komodo dragon pro 19 T, spur gear is 88 tooth.

a quick and dirty starting point if the truck is currently geared stock with a stock spur is to run 2 teeth less than the turn or so. What is in there now a 20 or something? Anyway you might try a 17 tooth pinion and adjust from there. You don't want the motor getting over 150 degrees or so at the end of a run. So gear it accordingly where you have a good mix of temp and speed etc.
