i am going to be getting the older proline sand paws and i am wondering if i should use the foam inserts because i have heard many people say they are not using them. also if i taped them would that be okay if i didnt use the foam?

you will be fine either way you go, taped, foamed, not taped, no foam, and any combination.

have you seen anybody running with no foam in tires because i will it be more likely to pop?

Depends on the tires, paddles are really stiff, so they don't really need foam... if you were running stadium truck pins, you would need foams for traction and support. With touring car tires, the foam pretty much governs what type of traction you are aiming for.

my friend runs the sand paws without foam and no vent hole on his slash with a 3S lipo and sidewinder 4600 combo. He has report no problems.

Yeah... I have a pair I throw on my B4 when I take it to the beach ,2s and novak 9t BL... they barely expand at all.
