Default Omega or Cool Power for my Saito?

I have a Saito FA100 and need to make a choice on what fuel to use.

The most common fuel available near me is Morgan's Fuel.

Now the question is, do Saito's prefer Omega or Cool Power?

I know Omega has some castor and Cool Power is fully synthetic, just looking for some opinions on whether one will be better suited to the engone thatn the other or not.

I've ran Cool Power (15% and 30%) in every 4 stroke I've ever owned, I've got a Saito 45 that is over 16 yrs old and never a single problem with it.

Morgan is the most popular fuel here too, but it could be because their plant is just 2 blocks down the street from me

Read the complete Saito notes (Sticky at the top of the Glow Engines forum) by Bill Robison. He explains why Saitos need a small amount of Castor in the fuel for the cam and lifters. Can they survive without the castor? Yes. Mine did fine on Cool Power for years but after reading Bills info, I started using the Omega fuel or some other fuel with a blend of castor/synthetic oil.

I use Omega exclusively in my two strokes but after having several of my Saitos get gunked up with castor I only use Cool Power (with 2 ounces of castor added-not enough to gunk them up) and they run a lot cleaner with more power. Just my personal experience with what has worked for me.

I ran a straight synthetic fuel similar to cruel power,sorry.....COOL power and my saito 125 developed an annoying sweaking sound that I thought was my front bearing. I started running fuel with some castor in it similar to omega and not only did my engine run just as good,it hasnt squeaked since!!!!!

Run the Omega for sure! And another great thing about alittle castor most people seem to not appreciate is that its a GREAT rust preventer! Some (including me) say that synthetic oil actually accelerates rust because of the way it works(technical stuff....).

But,if you do run cool power, you'll probly be just fine too

Nothing wrong with all synthetic as long as you do not make a lean run. Not being perfect, I add Castor to Morgan's Cool Power (or vice versa) or use Omega. Recent article in Model Airplane News, says uses some Castor, less in four strokes more in ABC two strokes, but use some Castor!
Use if only for a rust preventer, but use it. Bigger engines need less oil in the mixture but again some Castor is recommended.

And finally, it is your engine, do what you want.

Cheers,

Chip

When I used to live in Enterprise, AL, I would mix Coolpower with Omega at a 50/50 ratio. The color of the fuel was ugly but the blend of castor to synthetic was perfect for every application including my Saito and Thunder Tiger 4 strokes.

BTW, I left Alabama in 1999 and before I left I was lucky enough to purchase Coolpower, Omega, and their 20/20 blend fuel at wholesale price (7-8 bucks/gallon) I bought many cases of the stuff and still have 3 gallons of Coolpower sitting in my garage 11 years later. Yes, the fuel still burns like it was new.

I lived in Enterprise for about 12 years. Omega and Coolpower mixed does make a weird color.
