That's one good looking scheme. I had a Dan Gill Panther ,needed 3.5 pounds of nose weight on my web http://web.me.com/uncljoe/Uncljoe_Av...an_F9F-5P.html

Ken,

The panther looks great.

My panther only needed batts in the nose and 4 ounces of lead in the nose.

Thanks everyone ,hoping to get the maiden sometime in mid june if everything go`s well ,Gery Dye is shooting the clear
coat next week when he returns from our jet rally here this week in Austin . I was lucky on the colars buy finding a web
site that has just about every sq that flew the panther and cougars both Navy and Marine ,and being a Marine I had to have
a Marine sq on it .Won`t know on the CG untill everything is back in . I`ll let everyone know when she gets maiden ,might be
asking a couple of you to do the maiden for me plus help with all the control set-ups .Thanks for the the kind words. Ken
I think if I remember right mine was either number 3 or 4 that Dan had laided up .

BVM did buy the molds. Probably an electric conversion in the works. He seems to be heading that direction.

comes up ,just scroll down until you fine Gruman Panthers ,it list from F9F-2 to the end and then Cougars . Only draw back
is they are all profile few.the unit I picked was at MCAS Miami,Fl in 1954 VMA-334 Marines

Thanks F9F for the info, I will look at the site. While I was Petty Officer over the Paint shop, at Miramar a Squardreon just came back from Sea duty, they had a Panther with no paint on it except Squadreon mumbers and colors. It had all magnesium outer skin,I donot remember if it was a 2 o 5 model
The unpainted skin was not working out.As we only used Zinc Chromate for primmer and were having trouble making paint stick. Grumman finnaly came up with a primmer that I don" remember what is was. Anyway the paint stuck and the plane flew away to it"s next duty place. At this time we used Nitrate Lacquer for the paint on navy and Marines aircraft.. My brother was powerplant mech. in a Marine Squaderon Corsair in Korea

I still want to build a Cutlass one of these days. Wish someone made one that would work well on EDF power that was a good scale outline and such.

George
BVM did purchase all of the tooling and rights to the Dan Gill Panther.

I bought one of the kits, (but not from Dan) and have been working on it as time allows.
I have the project on hold right now, as I am trying to finish my BVM T-33. When it is completed the Panther will go back on the bench.

I knew that Dan sold the rights to BVM a while back. Dan's panther was, is a good size for the plane. Just in between the Airworld and Fei Bao birds. I had the first bird that was laid up for sale and the other one I have I got from Dan Avilla a while back. It is mostly built but needs to be finished. I have counted 4 out there so far anyone else chime in if you have one.

Ken have you gotten your cockpit finished yet, and did you do the dive brakes as well on the body.
