There Sunday. Stopped worrying about UK weather years ago, it will be what it is and makes no difference to whether I go or not

I'll be there both days, does anyone know if the big gazebo is still set up that we have used the last couple of years to put the models in on saturday night?

I'll be going, Martin tells me there is cover so I'm assuming it'll be the Gazebo,

knowing the Elvington lads Gazebo and BBQ will have been top of the list of priorities as they go all out for hospitality. Just hope the weather plays ball as not been 'jetting' in a while.

I'm sure a good time will be had by all whatever the weather. Elvington is probably one of the best jet flying venues in the country and rarely unflyable despite it's northern location.

Unfortunately I will miss it due to being in sunny Florida watching STS 135 hopefully launch for the final time.

Scott

It's not a JMA event, the Elvington Club run this themselves, although the JMA do offer some assistance and are always available for advice/help.

I'm sure someone will chip in from the club soon-Martin?

Both Me and the Old Man will be venturing down, managed to build the Hawk inside 9 Days with ALOT of help and late nights, that probably sounds laughable compared to Dave' Ultra Flash inside a week with a Build Thread too but hey Just the UAT from ZedJet to collect and fit saturday morning. Should be a good weekend, really looking forward to it no matter what the weather After a few test flights, who knows Carl, maybe a quick blat round the sky following your Flash is in order Excellent service from Jeff as ever with the Hawk, cant wait to fly a mans model again after venturing out with the WOT 4 for a few months See you all tomorrow.....

Well the weather played its part today. Bit Gusty at times but nice and sunny the rest with lots of good flying.
Jame i felt for you after your flame out. Nothing you could do though and sorry to hear you so downhearted when you were talking to Martin.
Was sickened too by the lovely viperjet that went in after shedding its canopy.

Very sorry to hear of the mishaps.

What make of Viperjet was it ?
Did the canopy "glass" cave in or crack, or did the whole canopy assembly come off ?
Did the canopy frame have any extra (recommended mods) locating pins fitted ?

i don't know much about the viperjet. It was flying around nice and steady and then was a flaming wreck. I'm sure someone else can shed more light on the subject but it looked like the whole canopy structure flew off which somehow resulted in loss of control.
