Default PowerBox vs JetCat: which smoke pump?

Hi guys,
I already have and run a PowerBox smoke pump very successfully, 3 years and loads of flights on my boomer.
Now I need a second pump and I'm considering a Jetcat smoke pump as I'm using a P-160SX.
Has anyone direct experience with both?
I read that the PB deliveres 750 ml/min while the JC says 2000 ml/min!!! that's a big difference!
The rest of the figures (size, weight, power drain) are similar.
Also the PB doesn't need an electronic valve as it is so tight it doesn't leak whereas the JC can control an additional electronic valve... is this necessary?
JetPower is behind the corner so must decide!!!

Thanks, Mauri

Mauri

Come and see me at the show and I'll run you through both options. We stock both and both have merrits, on a turbine 750mL is normally enough (the new JC smoke pump I thought was 750mL anyway) and on a P-160SX in an Ultra Lightning less is required
Powerbox also offer a two nipple 900mL for P200 up.

Regards

Dave

Have you considered the sullivan skywriter? I think you could buy 4-5 of them for the price of the jetcat one! They have it with an integrated battery too, nice and clean.

There is a reason for the price difference...

The JetCat will hopefully connect with the new RX turbines via S-Bus. This really could simplify the wiring. Also, and maybe they both are controlled by the ECU so as not to come on unless the turbine is running with adequate EGT, so as not to "mess up".

Thanks Dave, I actually found those figures "Rate of delivery : max 2000ml/min" on the internet (not on Jetcat) and only in one case so you are probably right...
In any case I was asking for direct experience with both pumps as I have the PB smoke pump that is great.
But I like the additional features of the Jetcat smoke pump, especially the "enable" cable to the ECU so that the pump cannot be accidentally turned on if the turbine is not running.
So if quality and reliability of the JC is comparable to PB as I expect, I might prefer JC in this case.

My Jetcat smoke pump is 3 years old. It was easy to program, it can be control by the ecu and rx.

We have only sold half a dozen JC units and all have been faultless. Powerbox between 50 and 60 and no problems other than customers!

We can talk Friday.

Dave, so the PB pump offers a dual nipple for larger turbines? Explain that to me please. Single inlet, dual outlet? I have noticed that the larger turbines (200 class) seem to have slightly weaker smoke. I would assume higher exhaust velocity?
