Default iGyro + Futaba 6014 + 6303SB

I have trolled through RCU here and have only found one post re mapping issues with the above configuration. Does anyone have any feedback on the above working together, rather than I purchase the iGryo and not get it to work with those receivers and have to purchase another receiver (Sbus 8 channel). I wish to use what I have. Searched Powerbox forums for issues/resolutions also. Tks.

The iGyro is listed by powerbox as an "SRS" product, meaning that it requires SBus (or equivalent from other mfr) input. Thus, the 6014, not an Sbus receiver would not work with it. I believe Futaba makes a product (SBE) that takes a number of conventional channels and outputs an Sbus signal, so I suppose that would allow you to use a 6014.

I presume the 6303 SB should work with the iGyro, I have not personally tried it but have excellent results with the 7008 receiver.

Powerbox has a really good support forum, here is an article related to your question: http://www.forum.powerbox-systems.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=914

Here is one more: http://www.forum.powerbox-systems.co...lit=6303#p3290

tku. I have purchased today the igyro and the pwm adaptor and will try both the sbus way and the pwm way and report when finalised.

Could this device be used to convert the output of the Cortex to SBus?

Hi Bob, I would think so .. that's an interesting idea since the Cortex does not have an SBus output like the iGyro does. Let us know if you try it!

That would be a backward application of the device. With a cortex I would think 2 SBD links would be the only way it would work

Bob,

That is exactly what I was trying to do at KY this year, but alas, not one SBE could be found on the premises.

I was going to try it once I returned stateside, but Tony may have poo-pooed my idea.

If you try it, let me know. If you or someone else hasn't done it by the time I get back, I'll try it for us.

Regarding the OP, it is my understanding after talking to PB, that a 6303SB is all that is needed to use the new iGryo SRS.

I don't think it's "backwards". The Cortex can take Sbus in, but only puts standard PWM out. I though the question was taking the standard one-signal-per-wire output of the Cortex and combine them into an Sbus stream to feed the control surfaces. The Cortex manual states that it can pass the Sbus thru for later decoding, but I presume it is simply passing the original input Sbus stream, not a stream with gyro actions included as the iGyro does.

In any case, hope someone tries it and reports out!

I happen to have a model on S-Bus that I am installing a Cortex into, I let you know if it works.

It will be interesting to see how this works. I didn't know the cortex was sbus compatible. My cortex was purchased before the software was even available and I haven't done much with it.

Good deal Bob! I hope it works, I'd like to put it in one of my sBus models too.

Keep us posted either way.
