Default Help With the proper way to epoxy tank fittings in a tank

I purchased these from dreamworks, http://www.dreamworksrc.com/catalog/...el-Tank-Insert and have never put any in. I have done some searching and have not found a really decent way describing the correct way to put these (tank fittings) in, I have read where some people are using POLY PLY? Others say just set the fitting on the tank and run a bead of hysol around it, and others say to sand everything put hysol on the inside lip of the hole and bottom of the fitting and squish it out. I am asking because I know you guys know how to do this, and I am sure I am not the only one out here who has never done it, I want to get this right the first time because I dont want a leak, and dont want to do it again,, thanks fellas
Ronnie

the holes around the flange are for hysol to push out of after you have run a bead of glue around the outside of the tank sand the area first and clean with meths or a degreaser to make sure the area is clean

Make sure you roughen up the metal where the hysol will touch. And done put it in backwards! I've seen most people use Hysol and that is what I have used.
I assume you have mylar tanks? If plastic don't use these fittings get stoppers.

Ronnie - could you measure the ID and OD of those (not the flange OD, but what fits in the tank)? Doesn't give dimensions on the dreamworks site. These look like they could work for the SM F-18 I have on the way with Kevlar tanks.

Thanks - Jeremy

If you scroll down on this page I just used these same fittings, a few pictures of mine. I always scuff the area with 350 grit sand paper and clean it with a acetone and clean the fittings as well. Take not on the instructions to which side faces in, if I remember correctly the short flange goes into the tank. Cheers
