Larger Viper fuel tank
New fuel tank has an overhang to fit over the wing tube
West Systems 105 epoxy resin
fuel tank molds
Stock viper fuel tank on the left, replacement fuel tank on the right
I have built a larger fuel tank for the Pilot Viper 2m. The original is approximately 2.8L capacity. The home built tank is approximately 3.9L capacity. I used carbon fiber and Kevlar cloth and fiberglass cloth for the lay up.

Help need to confirm CG location
Rx battery over landing gear door
Turbine battery in nose over landing gear door
radio installation
2nd fiberglass/kevlar fuel tank
I decided to build a second fuel tank from fiberglass cloth and Kevlar cloth. This way I can see fuel level. Attached are photos of the fuel tank and radio installation. Pilot recommends the CG location to be 160mm to 172mm from the leading edge of the wing. I'll need over 18 oz of nose weight to balance. What CG location is everyone using?

Balanced and test ran the turbine
I swapped out the turbine battery for a Value Hobby GForce 4000mah 3s life battery. Still needed 9 oz nose weight for CG balance with full UAT and 1/4” (very little) main tank fuel. Then I filled the tank to check for leaks.....none. Turbine ran fine. Now need to finalize servo throws. Hope maiden next week if the weather permits.

Its been ages since I have been on this forum, so bare with me while I try to remember how to post photos....
I have a PRC VJ 2m and have flown it a bunch this year. Mine was supplied by Chief Aircraft and it was an early ARF kit ( Nothing fitted ) I did a very brief overview of the assembly on my Facebook page. I will just copy and paste that here for those that didn't see it?
the plane went together super quickly and easily. The only "mod" that I made was putting sheer web under the wing servo tray to stop that from flexing ( I have photos ) I had one self induced issue where I damaged a retract unit during assembly. Pilot were amazing in relation to getting me a new one!
I have had a few people try to buy this model from me this year. It flies and presents that well. However. Its such a fun, simple and practical model top thrown in the car ( with stabs on ) That I have declined. I am seriously tempted by the Big Pilot Viper after my experience with this one. Fingers crossed.

I was in need of a small, simple and fun jet that my son and I could take to the local field for some quick jet action. I am embarrassed to say that the jet actually arrived over a year ago! I have been so busy with other builds that I kept putting off the assembly. I regret it now as the build was super quick and painless. The kit was super complete. All the hardware was great and it was nice not having to buy anything extra for a jet build.
My kit came from Chief Aircraft and they were a pleasure to deal with!

The assembly was so straight forward that my original intention of making a build thread seems kind of pointless. I will cover some details that may help/ be of interest. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I hope to get some flying photos and video soon. I may take it to Kentucky Jets in a few days? If all works out well... I would be happy to set it up on buddy box if anyone wants to have a stir of the sticks?
As always. I chose Kingtech for power. I originally thought that it would need a 120 or 140, but S soon as I felt how light the airframe was and some advice from Barry at KT I went with the 100. It’s small and fuel efficient and seems ideal.
For radio I of course chose Spektrum. The IX12 suits this plane. I have been wanting to use the new mid level 63 series 6310 servos. The specs are impressive and sub 100 bucks got my attention!
I also fitted our new AS3000 gyro and telemetry module. What a capable piece of electronics and such a awesome price point!
Anyway. Enough of the Chatter. Onto some photos!

Just some of the accessories. It’s been a while since I have put an arf Jet together. So it was a pleasant surprise to find out I didn’t have to hunt down all these accessories before I could start moving forward with the build!

Ali Machinchy July 5 · I am super happy with the paint finish. High gloss Green and black are unforgiving colors when it comes to less than perfect prep and application. Pilot Rc nailed it! In my opinion.

These were a super tight fit in the stabs. They do cause a slight dimple in the top skin, but I can live with that. Its just a personal thing, but I much prefer standard size servos on my jet flight controls. Midi size servos would be a better fit.
