What do you all think.. too much weight and mucking around or worth a go ?

Has anyone installed connectors succesfully on their Hot? If so would you mind sharing some pics etc?

I put the Ashlock connectors in my Hot, one for flying surfaces and one for gear and brakes. The Emcotec connector you are looking at looks very interesting and easy to setup. If you do decide to use the Emoctec connector be sure to post a picture or two. Will do a like checking myself on the connector.
Good luck with the build.

Mine has the Powerbox 2for1 connectors, one for the aileron and flaps, one for the gear and brakes.

Mine is built not to come apart very often, so std servo connectors on everything to keep it light. It fits in my van assembled

Thanks for all the connector comments and pics.
The digikey connectors do look good.
Dave makes a good point about the wings being left on alot of the time.
Maybe I will just go with the Ashlock style again.. Hopefully I can post some pics of what I end up using.

Edit - Have ordered some of the molex connectors as in cbk07's post.

Went to field with my boy, threw the Hott/P-60 in and had 3 flights around other flying commitments.
Almost as easy as EDF!

I installed a VSpeak and setting up telemetry for the turbine, does anyone know the capacity of the stock Rebel Hot tank in ml? I can't find it in the specs or anywhere.

DescriptionThis fuel tank set fits the Rebel HOT perfectly, it has 1.8 l capacity and allows safe 7-8 minutes of flight plus a lot of extra margin. It includes our standard hopper tank, which is small, light weight and proven by the thousands. This complete set is a perfect fuel system for your Rebel Hot! The plywood mounts shown on the photos are included with the airplane kit!

I didn't even think to look at the spare parts. I'm multi-tasking, it would usually occur to me to go there!

Appreciate it.

It so depends on fuel level. But around the front of the tube with 1/4 tank is a good starting point.

Nice jvaliensi! That scheme is screaming for more decals. Are you planning to add any?

I will add vinyl graphics. Something simple so it is easy to tell top from bottom. But I do like the monotone color.

Thinking about putting a cortex gyro in mine. Anybody have any pictures you can share of one in your jet? Thanks!

There are several setup photos in this thread.
#817 Dave Wilshere is a brilliant builder, and he is using an iGyro, but I think a Cortex Pro will fit the same spot.
#775 BoomerSooner does a really nice platform for all the equipment. Looks neat and should be easy to maintain
#757 Bob-B is the lightweight builder king, he goes low and simple. Also looks easy to maintain.

I built a tray for the top of the opening. It works but is miserable to maintain. If I got to get to the tank I got to take it all apart. It was my 1st turbine build and I copied others - but I should have copied Bob_B.

I like the Cortex Pro and it works really well with this model.

I've just pushed the button on a Carf Rebel hot (Orange launch scheme) with thrust tube, jp gear and tank.... I've also opted for the k70g4+, powerbox pioneer, isat, mcgreggor 2810 servos, powerbox 26d rx's, MAP uat...
....excited to start building it.

Other than the servos and motor that's pretty identical to my build. Let us know if you have any questions.

Default Final fitout

Final steps of my build are underway.... is there a definitive cg position, I've seen posts here of front middle and rear of wing tube? And is that set with any fuel in the main tank or just uat full?

Thanks
Andy

My CG is at the center of the wing tube. I’ve tried aft edge of the tube and forward edge of the tube and I like how it performs and tracks through maneuvers with the CG centered on the spar. I had a full uat (bvm 4oz) and just under 1/4 fuel (landing fuel) in the main tank when I CG’d the jet. This way if I land with an empty tank my CG is still at the aft edge of the wing tube and within range but after 6 min I’m still landing with 1/4 tank or more.
