RC Turbine Fuel Pump upgread?
SO yes, I very much believe some of these new brushless fuel pumps are the way forward, as I have now had 2 fuel pumps go out in my short 5 years of flying.
I just had the fuel pump go out on my Merlin 160 turbine, I finely got the motor working great on the bench and did one more start to confirm my settings before I was to install it in the Komit ME163
But the pump smoked, the brush inside the supper cheap motor failed. Drives me a little crazy to know this motor cost all of $5, I wish I could replace it vs buying a whole new pump for a jet I fly 3--4 times a year.
So I looked at replacement pumps for 36pounds of thrust at Dreamworks and they are running around $195, A pump from Kingtec for the same thrust ratings are $182 and look to be built a whole lot better and come with pre installed install bracket.
Is it ok to use the Kingtec pump with out the valve on the front of it for this Merlin?
Merlin dose not show replacement pumps on there web site, So any pump that can handle 36 pounds ok as long as its not brushless?
Thanks

It’s all flow rate. JetCat brushed pump that does the P-60 also does the old P-200. The ECU’s will have a voltage limit and that is the flow rate limiting factor.
I would talk to Gaspar since he must be able to recommend the best option for you.
