For the non gyro receivers And accessories, sometimes I used double side tape or 3D print a holder...

I make a mounting plate for my gyro or Assist Rx from 1/8" ply to which I CA a thin layer of G10 or Fliteskin, to act as the smooth surface for the double sided tape. I then screw this mounting plate down to my equipment tray so that it is easily removable if needed.

As Harry said, use the double sided tape provided with the Assist. The mount shown is a hard mount and at least the one I received prevented you from using the double sided tape with it. While I understand the desire to be CERTAIN that the gyro will never come loose, eliminating vibration isolation will prevent it from working properly. In something like a turbine or Electric you may get away with it but if there is ANY vibration a hard mount will degrade performance in a VERY noticeable way.

I simply reinforce the area I mount the Assist to ensuring that it is rigid. I then paint the area the double sided tape will be applied too with thinned finishing resin and then remove any release agent with alcohol. I've never had one come loose. Adding a couple of slots next to the mount and wrapping it with a velcro strap is fine but don't pull it so tight that it compresses the mounting pad.

If I need to stick it to bare wood I have in the past just treated the wood (even balsa wood) with warmed 30 minute epoxy so it flows to a smooth, flat surface, then cleaned with alcohol when it is well cured. Or as others above, hysol'd a piece of 1 - 2mm epoxy glass onto the wood.

All very good suggestions, thank you all, I think I like the G-10 idea that Paul suggested, come to think of it, I was supposed to do something like that and totally for got about it, I will do it next week when I get home, make a try just a tad bigger than the receiver with 4 holes so it gets screwed down onto the tray, also, just to make me happy, I will add the Velcro strap like I did on this one, snugged not tight.

Two things to remember, back up your models before you update, check you model set up before you fly for the first time after the update, all of your models.

It looks like the new update is only for the DS12 & DS16 to activate the 900 mhz module since the new 900 mhzNG receivers are been released.

I have been using 900 for quite a while on my DC-24 no need for an upgrade.... 😝

Here is my final receiver install on the Boomerang, I went to Tap Plastics and I got me a 1/8X10"X10" piece of Acrylic glass, I cut a 2X2 piece, cut the corners and I'm using that as the mounting base for the receiver, held down with two short servo screws.

Report from the flying field.

I had two successful flights today, the first flight was the triming flight, after all the normal checks + a run up and down to max rpms of the throttle one click at the time to check for acoustic vibrations, no control surfaces were observed moving during the test, the hi rates expos were reduced from 35% to 25% on both, Elev and Ail, none for rudder, also the primary controls were readjusted on the gyro with the rates on hi.

With the help of a long time jet flyer and friend of mine who showed up at the last minute, I was able to do the second gyro adjustment flight, he managed the gyro gains knob and I flew the jet, calling every move or step before it happened, we got the gyro gain as hi as 47% and still we didn't see any wiggling of the control surfaces, FL mode cruise was the only mode adjusted for today, since the airplane did very good, I decided to call it for the day.

One thing is for sure when doing a first flight, have friend that flys jets, so he knows what he is doing, bring your notes of the things you need to do and check and most important, take your time, all the time you need

One thing I have to add, I removed the gyro control on the steering, on all 3 flight modes, the Boomer doesn't need it.

Short report from the field.

Two awesome flights on the Turbinator, trim flight and assist on, solid flights, all worked as expected, more later.

After getting all the normal checks done, I performed the acustic test, this time my friend Raffy help me with it and selected the page for the test, the three axis were tested, when looking at the graphics of the test we could see the the little vibration that the receiver was picturing up, the vibration didn't passed above 10% of the max 100%, on all axis, I learned that the throttle position that produced more vibration ( still very minimal ) is around 80% to 90%, the thing that I like about this test is that it's live and you can see what's going on.

Just Arrived, hopefully webpage and video will be done this week.

Elite SE6 Serial to PWM Servo Expander ($55.00)

Zb/Jeti USA

The Servo Expander SE6 is a device that converts serial bus signal to standard PWM servo outputs. It offers up to six configurable servo outputs with optional period and fail-safe setting. The SE6 is a perfect choice for models with complex wing or tail mechanics where multiple servos may be connected to a primary receiver using just a single cable. In addition, if you are running out of receiver channels simply connect the SE6 to the receiver serial line and freely assign its own output channels.

Supported protocols:
- Futaba: S.Bus/S.Bus2
- Graupner: SUMD, Hott telemetry for setting
- JETI: EX Bus
- Multiplex: SRXL 12ch, SRXL 16ch

FEATURES
- Small dimensions and high current throughput via the integrated MR30 power connector.
- Automatic detection of serial data/telemetry after startup.
- Configuration through the transmitter or external terminal (JETIBOX/SMART-BOX).
- Firmware updates via USB interface.

Does anyone know why sometimes when I turn the radio on it doesn't say "ARMED" then, I cycle it then I does, it is not consistent.

Tks.

So far I'm very happy with my DS12, the brakes are activated using the long switch on the right top and that works fine for me, at the moment I have two switches that I'm not using, still experimenting with the gyro, so far so good.

My next jet to go on line with my Jeti is my Reaction 54, I did have a engine shutdown by the ECU due to ( per the GSU ) failsafe on my Turbinator ( landed just fine ) after checking the telemetry and consulting with Danny from Aeropanda ( I send him the logs via email ) isn't that cool, he is over 3K miles away and he was helping me with my problem right there and then, we concluded that the link between the radio and the receiver was as strong as it can be, I turned my attention to the ECU and found what my have caused the shutdown ( throttle wires falling a part where they are soldered in the ECU ) ECU been send to George.

So, the Jeti fun continues ( I love my Jet I love my Jeti I love my Jeti ) 😁😁
