Good way how to setup Dual Path or simple 2.4GHz/900MHz redundancy for small Jets.

Can anyone with a DS-12 please advise, are those potentiometer knobs 5 & 6 racheted in feel, or are they smooth? Thanks in advance.

If you're on Facebook you should join the Jeti Owner's Group. You'll be among 2000 brethren.

erm IFlyEm35... if you were referring to me, I am already on the FB Jeti Owner's Group for some time now, just thought I can get a quick answer here. I use a DS-24. Just trying to see if it is worth to retrofit the DS-12 knobs onto the DS-24. I could do some good with that. Not enough ratcheted knobs! Sliders are too easy to displace by clumsy fingers

I have been testing an amazing LUA app which will work on the 12, 24, and 16 Mk2.

The answer to that is no, 5 & 6 have a detent at mid range, 7 & 8 are ratched.

Thanks a lot! That's exactly what I am after. On the DS-24 both knobs are racheted.

Maybe you could swap the knobs for the small sliders facing in.

That video alone could sell a lot of Jeti’s.

WOW! this Google maps LUA will be very useful, I can think of some fields where I've flown before that have flying restriction ( TOMCATS ) where this LUA could very beneficial and as an airplane finder. How many times have you seen an airplane fly away, far away, never to be found?

Do we know if the user will be able to choose the map size or zoom out and in?

I had a little time to play with my DS12 and I made a short video on the DS12 color screen and vibration alarm that the older Jeti radios don't have, the DS24 probably has these fixtures since they both use the same color screen and vibration alarms, I noticed.

At the slope with a lovely Multiplex ASW-27B, using the Google Maps app, proving it works with home-made GPS from the rc-thoughts design. There are not any no-fly zones at this site so the maps app is more of a novelty value, though if the lift collapsed as it sometimes does and you had to land a long way down this would help you to find the model!
Dave is constantly updating the app software to cope with my requests so this flight proved the latest version, and that I had got my static map downloads correct as the system picked a correct map once the GPS worked out where we were.

I've been playing with my radio some more, I've come to the conclusion that the DS12 can only talk to one receiver on the 2.4 frequency, the dual path comes in play when the 900mhz receiver is used. I've narrowed my install on my jets, the will consist of a 12 Chl assist receiver, the 900mhz receiver, GPS, DSM10, RSW wireless switch and 2 1700mah LIFE packs.

Dual Path is when the TX talks to 2x 2.4 RX, the 900 in your case 900 NG is just that a 900......backup.

not sure 100% about the DS12......but for the 900 to work with the TX....at least on my DC-24...the 2.4 (or 2 in dual path) have to be talking to the TX....the 900 by itself does nothing it will not work at all.....it’s strictly a Back-up..

Ok, thanks for the clarification D, I wasn't sure of that ( learned something new about Jeti today ) agreed on the 900mhz been used as a back up which is one of the fixture I like about the Jeti system, if the 12 chl 2.4 gets overwhelm by noise then the 900mhz receiver takes over, then the 2.4 receiver takes back the control when the noise is gone.
After having a long conversation with Danny at Aeropanda, I concluded that for the size of my jets my install choice is more than enough, just last month I was flying them with nothing more than a single radio antenna without a back up and no way of knowing if the onboard electronics had a strong link with the radio.

One more thing in case your not aware, the 900 NG is most likely a year away from being on the market in the USA/Canada...

‘’And while it might be tempting to just get one from Europe when they come out at the end of the month....yes they are both in the 900 range, but they are not compatible because of the actual different frequency’s...at least this applies to the current 900.

I forgot the specific number but something like USA 913 and Europe 953 ‘THOSE ARE NOT THE RIGHT FREQUENCY Just an example’

Since Zb/Jeti USA posted that I will let him answer this question, will the 900mhz NG receiver be available on Oct 24th in the US as posted above?

I just upgraded my DS12 radio from an 8 Chl to a 16 chl and a few more funtions that I will be experimenting with like the accelerometers, I think I now have all I need for this radio, I will be adding the 900mhz module as soon as the 900mhz receivers become available, there are some functions that I don't see myself using at all, like throttle limiter or servo balancer and one or two more items, because of this I'm well below the $960 deluxe price yet I have what I need to fly jets and then some.

My recommendation to anyone concidering the Jeti DS12 is to get the deluxe package, when adding modules you end up paying in EU, which is a bit more than dollars, if you buy the deluxe package is all in dollars, what they ask is what you pay, free shipping and no tax for us Cali guys, even so, I'm still well bellow the deluxe package.

Happy, happy

What’s the difference between the 900 and the 900NG Rx?
