Default King Cat almost there!!!

Hey guys:

I thought I will share with you my progress on the KC. After a few missing small parts and instructions and with the help of uncle Bob himself (who called me himself to help, which I thought was very thoughtful) the KC is ready for turbine installation. All the servos are in, retracts and all gluing is done at this stage. What's left is the servo extensions and the air tanks.

I weighed the parts as follows (Accurate scale):

Plane assembled as you see in photo 14.5 lbs
retracts, wheels, brakes, lines 4 lbs
turbine 5 lbs
servos, wires, batt, rx, sw 2 lbs
tanks, Header, UAT, fuel lines 1.5lbs

Total: 27 lbs

I will be painting it some type of a visible camo (I know, a contradiction in terms, but doable) I suspect it will gain another 1.5 lbs max for a total of 28.5. At this weight, it should be a very well flying boat[8D] it is BIG!!

After I painted mine and with the UAT full, it weighed 3 oz. short of 29 lbs. Flys great.

Visible camo......sand soup and spinach is amazingly good contrast. Aggressor blue and grey is how mine is painted and is very diffucult to see. You are going ot enjoy the KC.

I know, BV tried to send me the file of your KC paint scheme and Vernon's but the file keeps arriving empty.
I like the desert camo, but against the blue skys and the golden hills of Northern California it will be a little hard to see. Then again it is a big plane and can be kept very close...so I think I am going for it!!

Hope to see you at Fl guys[8D]

Any thing I need to Know?

I will be placing my order this week! I'm getting the all-white version.

I've built a number of "Uncle Bob's" kits, but would like to know if there's something I need to pay particular attention to?

Not a turbine "newby" .... just looking for some insight from those whom have been-there...done-that.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!

Just check off the boxes, you can't go wrong. I installed everything, gear, servos, engine, etc. then pulled everything to paint. I run the servo leads and airlines after painting.
