Default UP3 Valve Experience

Looking at installing the UP3 gear and door sequencer valve in my new F-15 and am interested to hear of any good or bad experience with this valve. Have heard a few good things but would like first hand experience. Thanks!

I've used several of them and I like them better than the Smooth Stop. I think its more proportional and takes less room to install. I've also used the electronic door sequencer and like it, but haven't used the pneumatic one yet. I also have an F 15 (and the pneumatic sequencer) and plan to use it for that application. So far my experiences with the UP folks have been really super. Besides that, the last one I sent in for crash damage was repaired no charge.

I don't think you'll be sorry using them.

You might want to have a look at this gear door cycler!

They work great I've used them on two projects now with no problems, just one note make sure you have a large enough air supply so you can get four or more reliable cycles without having to use to high a pressure (anything above 100-120 psi). I'm using two large Robart tanks in my f-15 maybe a little overkill, we'll see.

The UP-3 works great. But as P38J says ...
just one note make sure you have a large enough air supply so you can get four or more reliable cycles
You need VOLUME, not pressure.

Hi,
Have had no problems with mine, UP are very helpful, totally agree with previous comments re volume/pressure.

Up3 is the best brake valve.

I thought UP3 was a gear and door valve sequencer. Are you saying it can be used as a brake valve too?

Well I see the experts are at it again. Giving advise on something they know nothing about.
The UP 3 is an encellent GEAR DOOR sequencer, as is the UP 2. The UP 6 is the brake valve.

Larry is correct. UP 2 & 3 are for retracts/doors. UP6 is the brake valve. I have used all the UP products mentioned,in addition to the BVM, Robart & Jetcat. They all work, but my favorite are the UP products.

I agree the earlier comments regarding the UP3. I've used this valve in both my F-15 and F-16 for hundreds of flights with no major problems. I've learned they like volume rather than pressure. In my F-16, when I fill the large tank to 100 lbs., the UP3 will bleed off about 20 lbs. of pressure when the gear are retracted. It seems to like to operate best at around 80 lbs. I'll get at least a half dozen complete gear cyclesfrom the 80 lb. point before the pressure drops too low to be reliable if you're in the air. Highly recommend the UP3 unit.
