Hi Guys,
Here are a few TOP GUN jet photos from the past weekend. I uploaded them in 1024 x 768 resolution to get a little better view. Original images are in 3000 x 2000 resolution
First up is Kent Nogy flying BV's F-100 in Pro-Am

awesome pics, you have a good eye! This was my first time to top gun and I must say that it was the most impressive event I've ever been to.. absolutely awesome.. The planes were incredible, as was the flying, and it was all put together very well.. I was lucky enough to meet Terry Nitsch and get a close up view of his plane, truly amazing. That pretty penny f-100 was unbelievable as well. Thanks for the great pics!

The picture of the 2 Kingcat's in formation is cool. I noticed that the one planes wingtip is obscured but the leading planes turbine exhaust plume.
VERY nice shot's John! Thank you for sharing them.

Thanks. Glad you liked them.
Camera is a Nikon D100 using a 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Nikkor lens. (Which is actually a 300mm when used with a digital camera.) It's a VR lens (Vibration Reduction), but for flight shots, it actually works best with the VR mode switched of.
Here is a take off shot of Terrys Hun shot at 1/2000 shutter speed which really enhances the heat plume in the pic.
