Rich Fong will be missed!!
To those who knew and appreciated Rich,
This morning Dan Avilla was handling the paperwork for Rich concerning hospice care, when Rich whispered" This is my last flight". He died shortly thereafter.
Rich has no family. Burial plans, tentatively, expect graveside services next Tuesday in Carson City, Nevada. Knowing how closeknit this turbine group has become you will probably ask where to send cards flowers and such----- I am certain Rich would have replied give to the Cancer Society.
Rich mentioned a few months ago, that he was going to beat me to Heaven and would make sure the Heavenly RC field was all squared away for all following. Make sure you get there!
So long good friend.

I never met or talked to Rich Fong, but I always read his articles with interest and enjoyed his jets. It's a shame for the jet community to lose anyone like that. Up to that endless tarmac in the sky to turn and burn with the best of them.
God bless

Rich was a class act. I will really miss his flying and building skills. His humor always made me laugh.
Thanks for the great memories sixshooter, they will be forever cherished.

My primary contact with Rich was at Superman and Florida Jets over the past few years. Two years in a row, Rich and I ate pizza together at Superman and had some long talks about R/C and his IT profession. He was a master builder. I will think of Rich for the rest of my life whenever I see an F-106.
So long Rich, you made each of our lives better for having known you.

I've been sitting here staring at my screen for several minutes, trying to think what to say - but no words can do justice to the contribution that Rich made to the lives of those who were fortunate enough to call him their friend. He will be sorely missed.

I knew it was coming and it still hurts. I met Rich years ago and always appreciated his humor and his exceptional building skills. He was always ready to help anyone with their jets. Rich was definetly a class act. Happy landings sixshooter you will not be forgotten.

Hi everyone,
It's a sad day and a terrific loss for the turbine community.
I never met Rich but I communicated with him numerous times with questions about my 106. He always responded immediately, usually with pictures or sketches on how he solved a particular problem.
He certainly exemplified what being a modeler is all about.

The Whidbey Island meet will never be the same without Rich and his F-100 as the centerpiece.
Unfortunately I only had the chance to speak with him a few times over the years, but I found him to be an incredibly knowledgeable guy. I and many other local modelers had great respect for him.
Rest in peace Rich.

Ivan is gone, and now Rich. Two huge losses in just a few days. I have fond memories of both of them, and of their contributions to the hobby. They will both be missed a lot. May they both rest in peace....

It was a pleasure to get to know Rich over the years. Knowing that he did not have formal family, the jet community became his family. He represented us well in all his endeavors.
A special thanks to Dan and Skeet for helping Rich enjoy his last months and weeks. Both of you went beyond the usual to ensure he was comfortable and not have to worry about details.
Rich, you will be missed. Thanks for the memories.

Rich, you were one of the first jet guys I ever met and you always blew me away with your building, flying and persona. I regret I never got to know you better. I'll miss you my friend. Aloha and Ahui Ho, Peter.

You knew you had an event going when Rich was there with one of his fantastic projects.
I didn't know him well, but knew only well of him. A great guy he was.
I'm sure there's a special pilot station awaiting him.
God bless you Rich.
