Extending cables
Hi Carlos,
I am installing FT's 1000 in my L-1011 and need to extend all the cables about 1 foot.
Can I do that without problems if I use the same gauge wire?. Also, what cable should I use to extend the temp probe.
The purple/gray/black/white wire that runs from the engine..... Do ya think it is possible to find a pre-made extension cable for that?
Thanks a bunch

Extending cables
John,
You can extend all cables with the same gauge wires. I'm doing that now in Rei's plane.
The temp. probe is a different story. I have never extended one but I know that we had ordered extra long ones for Tommy Woods F18. You will probably need to do the same.
I've never found a pre-made extension for the RPM sensor lead. I've always bought an extra lead without the sensor and then spliced and soldered it to the end of the existing one.
I can order both items if you want. I'll give you a call later today to discuss further.
Regards,
