I'm wondering those of you using Simjet turbines with the RAM conversion on it, if you guys can tell me how nice or bad or whatever your experience has been and if you have done such conversion who does them and how much.

Thank you in advance...............Johnny Hernandez

Default sim

Carlos told me it would take a day or two and would be around 650.00. I own a 3000 that runs perfect, that I will someday convert.

Johnny ,

I have a SJ 1700 with the new ecu, 1700-D1-490 and it works great.
Have you tried the very latest ecu?
I think they are working good now.
I've got 152 flights on mine now, and I'm very satisfied with it.

Let me know if I can help.

Default Simjet ECU

I also just received a new ECU for my 1700, and it seems to be working fine as well.

Default Simjet

Johnny, not sure if you have a Simjet or not but the newer ECU's really are working very well in the field. I also have the SimJet 8000 kit engine which is basically the 1700 with around 30 flights and it works great. If you just got an older Simjet or something you might want to give it a try as long as it has the newest ECU or if you need to upgrade one, contact Kevin or Ed in Canada. Gary

Nate, how are you? I had not heard from you since you bought the 1200 but it sounds like it is doing well. Send me an e-mail when you get time. Gary

I have the SimJet Sonic 120 kit. Started the first time and every time since I built it! Not one complaint! Best value I found for a brand new engine, plus I got the satisfaction of building it!

Default SIMJET and ECU's

Johnny:

I own an fly a 3000 AES and have recently had the oportunity to bench a customers 1200 Air Start at the Liberty Bell Jet Rally.

Both engines are opperating very well with the D1 Rev. ECU. and run beautifully.

Please contact Ed or Kevin at Great Northern Models if you have any ECU operational questions as they have been of great help in these type of matters.

Best Regards,

Default Thank you guys

Is there a Phone number that i can call, before i do the RAM conversion?

I'd like to try out the new version ECU. I have 2 Simjet 2400 or 2500 not sure which of the two models (Gold Casing) it is and I'm getting ready to install them in my twin new project and I must get the best ECU possible for it.

Best Regards and thanks again ...........Johnny Hernandez

Spoke to Carlos Monday evening, and he is working on getting them AMA approved.

He says they really run sweet with the Ram ECU.

Default SimJet

I have a SimJet 1700 and had LOTS of problems with my first two ECU's, but aparently the third times a charm, and my new model ECU works great! I have about 50 flights on my new ecu and have never had a problem. I love my engine starts and runs great, and I dont get smoke coming out of the ecu's any more.

I want to thank everyone for the great feedback, I'm glad to read that everyone's doing just fine with these engines as I just gotten a pair for my new twin, just wanted to make sure how everyone felt about them.
