Beginners help!
Hi,
I am new to this jets but am looking forward to taking the leap within the next six months.
After doing some reading and searching of the various threads I still have some questions. I am not looking for advertisement for one brand, just a better way to focus my research before buying.
Radios: Which TX, RX, Battery packs and servos and why? is it best to stick with one brand, like all JR or mix and match the best...i.e. Graupner MC-24 and 8411s in the plane?
Planes: What extra equipment and supplies did you need for assembly as well as maintaining the plane at the field and roughly what was the cost?
Turbine: I imagine everything in production today will work well but what are the pros and cons from your different experiences in building your own and seeing others at the field?
Reading: Any books that are must read or any other websites that you would consider informative?
Please feel free to answer any part of the questions from above. If you are a turbine expert, I want your opinion. If you are just beginning and made a purchase and wish you had bought something else, I want to know why.
Thanks,
Naval AV8R

RE: Beginners help!
No problem, he's one of my closest friends and is currently a multi engine instructor at the Naval Airstation there. Regardless, there is a thread here for beginners at:

Good Luck,

Does anyone else think that the thread "So you wanna fly jets? A beginners guide to jets" should be pinned to the top of this forum?
