Default AMT USA AT400 Full Electric Start

YES!!!

I Just got off the phone with Bruce at AMT, my At400 with full auto start is on the way. It should be the premier turbine now on the market. Full 40lbs thrust and onboard electric start awesome! I will post photos and run up characteristics by the week end.

Sounds like a winner Kev, the 400 has some serious power, it hauled around that OVERWEIGHT AD Rafale of yours with ease.

Yep, spoke to Lyndee today, my 400 is on the way as well. Rushing to get a KingCat done to fit it in... can't wait!

Kevin, what is yours going in? I plan to eventually power an Airworld Cougar with mine...[sm=thumbup.gif]

The 400 is an awsome motor, no doubt, and it pushes a KingCat around quite smartly. With electric start, it should be even better. The one down side though is that you'll be getting 8 minute flight times with stock KingCat fuel setup with that motor and you'll be looking for a way to get an extra 40 - 50 oz in there to get you up to 10 minutes. With some other motors with a bit less thrust, you'll get 13 minutes on stock tanks and almost 15 with the extra fuel... You pays your money and makes your choice...

Hi Barry, I took the AT400 out of my AD Rafale, which by the way is an excellent combination. While at AMT, I have built and have ready to fly (white at this point) a BVM King Cat. I was going to put the engine back into the Rafale and jam with it, but now I am thinking (after spending sunday with John Redman, at our field, watching him train a bunch of guys on Ray Olsen's King Cat,) that wow, I may just put the engine on the King Cat and blast the sky.

This engine in your new Airworld Couger should be nothing less than breathless. Will you have it at Best of west, or maybe even Tucson????? Please....please.....

HA! I wish I'd have a Cougar ready by then but I haven't even ordered it yet . I was all ready to get one until I checked the price after latest exchange rate increase and shipping. Suffice it to say that the ARC (ARP?) BVM F-100F I passed on recently would have been cheaper. I bought a new KingCat and the SM F-5 to quench my desire in the meantime (total still less $$$ than the Cougar kit!).

the 400 will be in my (white for now lol) KingCat for Tucson (will be painted by BITW) and I'll order the Cougar if all goes well late this year. I breifly flew John R's P200 KC at Fresno and fly every weekend with Buck so the fitting it into KingCat was a no-brainer.

See you in three weeks -

barry
