Default Turbine waiver/ required flights

If I get a turbine waiver September of 2005, When do I have to send AMA proof that I have completed 20 or more turbine flights?

Thank you

The waiver is good for 2 years. You have to get 20 flights in 2 years to stay current.

So if I get 20 or more flights by November 2006 I can send the proof with my renewal and then I'm good for another 2 years or 2008 right?

CARS II--You don't need to provide proof of twenty or more turbine flights to renew your waiver. You do need to send in the TURBINE WAIVER RENEWAL AFFIDAVIT form, signed by another turbine waiver holder and notarized by a notary. See the AMA Form under publications section 510-E.

You should keep a log of turbine flights flown in case the AMA should ever ask for written proof.

Waivers are not good for two years. Starting this year a turbine waiver has to be renewed each year with your AMA membership. You need to submit the affidavit with your 2006 membership application stating that you have completed at least 20 turbine powered flights over the last 24 months.

I just got my waiver in June, and it expires on Dec. 15, 2005. It was pointed out to AMA that this gives me only 6 months to complete the requirement, and that new waiver holders should get more time. AMA is looking into it. In my case it doesn't matter since I already have logged more than 20 flights. All of this is spelled out in AMA Publicatiion 510-A.

The way the AMA has it set up if you obtain your waiver on Dec 31 you must have the notarized affidavid saying you have completed 20 flights on Jan 1 to renew and keep your waiver... Total crap.... You should have a grace period of a calander year to do this but as it is written you do NOT... Russ
