To all concerned.
There have been rumors that Ashtabula Jets is not going to happen. I spoke with the airport manager this evening. Although the Ashtabula County Airport has new owners, the airport manager has assured me that any events that were scheduled for this summer are still going to happen.


ASHTABULA JETS WILL HAPPEN ON JULY 8th AND 9th


On a sad note, we will no longer be able to fly at the airport on the weekends as in the past. The new owners are currently in the process of turning the airport into a cargo hub. This means no vehicle traffic on the taxi ways.
We have had many good days of flying there and made some new friends. Hopefully we will find a new place to fly our jets and start some new memories.

Thanks for the update. Russ and I will be there to enjoy a great weekend of turbine flying. Last year we were still a bit green. :-))

I know several R54's and even an R44 will be attending!

Yes unfortunatly. There is no flying jets or any Rc airplanes off the Taxi way or the runway at anytime. The airport is closed to Rc models.

Greater Pittsburg ARCS. We're supposed to get our runway repaved soon.
I used to have a little pull at the Jefferson County Airpark but haven't been there in a while.

I was a member of the ARCS way back when. I vist the burg quite often would love to fly my Bobcat there sometime. When is the runway scheduled to be done.

I think the bids are out for the work now. Hopefully some time this month barring red tape. It's a State Game Lands project initiated by K. Leroy Irvis who just passed away last week.

I'm sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Irvis. He was very influentual to myself and other young modelers at the ARCS during the late 60' and early 70's. I always looked forward to seeing him at Toledo each year and saying Hi. May he rest in peace.
