Default Repainting boomerang XL

Hello All
some advice needed
the paint on my Boomerang Xl is starting to chip off and it also has some hangar rash
i'm thinking of repainting the boomer .
what shall i do just sand the paint on the covering and repaint it or
take off all the covering and recover it with glascloth and paint it or
recover it with new iron on coverring .
can i safely paint over ca'd hinges that came with the kitt or do i have to cut the controll surface loose
if i were to cut the surface loose how is the best way of reinstalling the new ca hinge's
thanks in advance

I would recomend stripping all the covering off. Cut all the surfaces off the hinges. Sand, and prep the entire model. Glass the wings, stab, center section and moving surfaces. Then primer and paint. When you re-hinge, just move the new hinges over next to the old hinges. OR, you can strip and recover with iron on covering. It is not very difficult as the boomer is a a very easy airframe to work with. Alex.

Hi,
I am planning the same thing for my XL,
I am going use some fine sand paper to get the old paint off the fuz and booms,
I am also going to strip the covering off the wings, centre section and stabs and replace this with Silver Solartex which I can easily paint over to give a nice finish! should look like somthing like this!
