Default BP 2380 oil for model turbines ?

Hello guys,

I fould that i could get a great supply of BP 2380 Turbo Oil locally, and i was wondering if you guys know wether this oil is fit for use in our model turbines ?

Yep, I've used BP 2380 (used to be Exxon 2380) in my JetCats. I believe that JetCat USA says that this is an "approved" oil for their turbines (they used to only say that AeroShell 500 was approved).

2380 is fine and any turbine oil that has mil-spec 23699

2380 used to be the preferred oil for model turbines. Then AMT et al started saying that Aeroshell 500 was better as it had less chance of coking up the injectors, or something like that.

Still plenty of people using it quite successfully though.
