Shaul's JAS-39 Gripen smoke test
Hello guys,
Here is Shaul's JL Jas-39 Gripen with Sullivan Skywriter pump driven by a TINY 7.4V 200Mah Lipo - on one home made SS injector tube (similar to Tam's), pumping Super Dri smoke oil.
The Turbine is an AMT 180SP from AMT USA, air start, self converted to what i call 80% auto start (thats when you take an air start, put an electric starter on (we used JJ's bracket) to make it a semi auto start, and then build a home made start box to control the plug and starter via switches, very neat and easy to run!).
Enjoy the video ! the MP4 format requires Real Player or Quick Time to view..

Shaul - we will soon be writing in the skies my brother !!
In The pics - Shaul's Gripen as caught by the camera of our new Jet team photographer - Mr. Udi Maman !

RE: Shaul's JAS-39 Gripen smoke test
Very nice. I have the blue version in my shed at the moment.
Lots of questions.
Where did you fit the smoke tank in?
Do you have pictures of your gear fit out as I am just about to build mine.
What servo did you use in the rudder (it;s very narrow in there)?
What throws are you using on all control surfaces? Are you using the canards? I have heard they are extremely sensitive.
What engine/thrust are you using?
Do you know of any webpages with more information on this jet?
All information appreciated.

I will try to answer a few questions:
the smoke tank is on the center of the fuse about the center tank - ill ask Shaul for some pics.
In the rudder he has a thin Hitec 5125MG servo - fits easily inside.
throws ? i cant remember, although i setup his plane, i can ask Shaul to check.
Engine is AMT 180SP with 90N thrust.
Information about the Gripen is widely available on this forum - do a search !

RE: Shaul's JAS-39 Gripen smoke test
Thanks, I searched and read all there is about this jet in here.
I can't find any info on throws/C of G, and layout of items.
Your photo's on runryder are excellent but for some reason my computer would only show me about half.
It would not show me the photo's of the jetlegend Jas39 with the P120 or the ones below it. I will try on another computer.
I would appreciate photos of the cockpit and engine bay area.
Info regarding the use of the canards would be excellent as well.
I saw in your photo's you have a eurosoport how does it fly compared to the jas39's if you have flow both?
Cheers

growing..,
You must be doing something wrong! There are hunderds of postings on the Gripen, lots of throws/CG information and photos.
Here's how my throws & CG are set up:

Here's a few photos of mine.
