Default FEJ have heard your Voice`s ...

Hi Guy`s,

last few Day`s i discussed your Wish for a small Sportjet into the 14-18lbs Thrust Range with FEJ.
They can`t believe that a lot of you want it very badly. But after a lot of Mails they believe me in that Fact.
So we worked out a Pre-Order Side. You can Pre-Order that new Sportjet without any Deposit. When 50
Preorders has arrived we start working on the Prototype. We can finished it in 8 Weeks, maybe faster, if there
are enough Preorders. If you want it in that Size pls order it as a SMALL one. The small one is 67" long and
Wingspan is around 60". The Name of this new Model is LIBERTY.

WE HAVE TO THANK JEREMY FROM LGM GRAPHIX FOR THE DRAWINGS OF THAT NEW SPORTJET

order it here:[link=http://www.flyeaglejet.com/Pre-Order.html]LIBERTY Sportjet for smaller Engines[/link]

Great! I've been looking for a good sport jet for my Wren MW-54. There are few sport jet choices for 14 lb thrust turbines - which I never understood because the MW-54 turbine kit is the lowest cost way to get into jets...

I "would" pre-order, but i dont want to put one in and then not have the $$$ for it. b/c the cost of the jet depends alot on if i'll pick one up or not.

Hi Thomas,

we don`t have the Price yet but i can tell you that we will sell it for a very low Price.
Our Opiniom is to sell a Sportjet for a Low Price and for that smaller Engines so that
it didn`t need XXXXX $ to get in Jets.

In my Opinion the Price must be in the Range around 1000-1200$ included retract,
tailpipe, Brakes and so on .....

And of course there will be a special promotion price for early customers.

Regards

Jimmy,

of course you can put a Titan in the bigger One.
We also can build it very strong if you wish.

No Price Opinion for the bigger One in this Moment.

I think that the only sport jet that doesn't look like it is the boomerang.
Here X-Treme jet Dragon, you got Bandits, Barf's, Vipers, Lightning's, Spark, Dozens of others..

How well did the F-101 Voo Doo Do?

It was a cross between a firebird and a bandit. Firebird intake style, bandit tail style.

And of all those jets you listed, with the exception of the BARF none of them are designed for 14lbs of thrust and the BARF is very expensive. There is NOTHING in the market yet in the size of a 14lb thrust conventional sport jet that looks good, and is reasonably priced. I am of course biased, but I've been waiting for a 14lb thrust sport jet since I started flying turbines in 2000. Other than ducted fan conversions, which are primarily all kits still, there is next to nothing. The BARF and the Electra are both nearing $4000 for the go fly package, and the rest of the smaller ones are all kits, nothing as an ARF.
Just my opinion of course.

I totally agree. It's so much less expensive to go with a 14 lb turbine, not to mention easier to transport the smaller planes...

Well It looks like you will get your wish. I tried to get JMP to do it, But like BV 's it would be 3500 to 4000$ + radio and Turbine.

Might sell 30 of them and than it gets Copied to death.

High wing loading from the fuel. So maybe with a High Ratio aspect wing they may come up with something special.

My 139.00 Falcon 120 cost me $1450.00 plus the Radio and Turbine rolling down the runway.Prolly a lot more...

It looks good and I'd definitely be interested in that type of plane, but I'd want to see the specs., more details and some flight reports before ordering one.

Mine was an early kit so I experienced the typical air system and paint problems . I replaced the FEJ gear door cylinders and air control valves, plus they sent me a new nose gear retract cylinder. The air system problems seem to be behind me now. The only other major issue was the paint blistering on the wings and stabs. Again FEJ was very good about replacing them.

The plane does fly great. I think it's a little heavy for its size. The Wren SS flies it fine but I wish it had a little more take off and vertical authority. Most would be fine with the performance level but I like to go fast. I wouldn't recommend a heavier engine like a Falcon. If I had to do it over again I'd probably get a Jet Central Rabbit or Merlin 90 for an extra 1 or 2 lbs. of thrust.

It's to FEJ's credit that they're very responsive to customer's concerns, but from what I've been reading they haven't completely fixed some of their quality problems. If they gave you air components that worked right out of the box and paint that didn't blister after being out in the sun for a while, then they would have a real winner. Plus it seems that it would be cheaper in the long run to supply reliable components rather than have to replace a lot of them.

I only have 8 flights on it so far but now I am happy with it.

Erik,
This jet is my design. It is not a copy of the Firebird. The firebird is however my favorite jet so I did incorporate the blended wing/intake style. The Tail is more of a bandit design with the low anhedral stab. It is also much smaller.
My dream jet is a Firebird and Tom knows that. However, I cannot afford the kit or the engine for a Firebird at this time. I also have a PST600R that I would love to put in a sport jet. As such, about a year ago I drew up this design.
The reason I named it "Liberty", is it (In my opinion) pays tribute to the real Pioneers of RC jet modeling, Tom Cook and Bob Violet.
I have the greatest respect for Tom Cook, I consider him a good friend and I am not trying to copy his design. I was only trying to incorporate the visual features I like from both the Firebird and Bandit. I'm sure Tom's engineering lead him to place the stab on the fin like it is on the Firebird, I wanted to see what a similar design would look like with a low anhedral stab so I drew it.
One day I have no doubt that I will buy a Firebird, but until that day comes I'll have to enjoy what is available. There is very little available that is reasonably priced in a 14lb thrust jet, I hope that this one comes to life.
As I say, I have the utmost respect for Tom Cook, I consider him and his wonderful wife Sue to be very good friends. They showed me great hospitality when I was down at Superman and I have spent many hours on the phone with Tom. I would never want to copy his design, nor would I purchase a clone of any of his airplanes. While I do agree that the similarities are there in this design (of course they are, I drew it after my favorite jet) it is not a Firebird copy.

with all the screaming of "copying" another companies "sportjet" how come no-one screams when another company makes an F-15, F-16, F-18, whatever.. its the same damn thing.

Atleast the liberty looks "different" compared to a firebird or bandit. even if it does look "similar"
