Default Question on F22 Raptor availability

Hello Fellow Jet Guys,
Does anyone know who still produces the F22 besides Fei Bao and Jet Legend. I've been in the market for one to put my JC Falcon 22lbs. in. As I am aware, I think the Jet Legend F22 requires a bit more brut than my powerplant delivers and I have'nt read to many good things on the Fei Bao version, from what I've read I think my turbine is too big for that one anyway. I don't know, but any advice would help. Thanks[8D]
Regards

Hover,

Send me a PM with your contact info. I know a former Skymaster dealer who has a few still in his inventory. It was originally designed for 12-27# turbines. The ones I saw leaned towards the 20#+ range for power.

Here are the specs:
Length: 76 3/4"
Wingspan: 55"
Weight: 21-23#

I need to double check but I think he was asking around $1000 or so for a complete ARF+ with retracts, tailpipe, wheels, brakes, etc. I will give him a call today and verify what the price is.

Happ Holidays!!!!

My two cents, I really like my Yellow F22. Flies really well and the glass work and landing gear are excellent. I would hope Yellow keeps them comnig...

Ddennison, I looked on the Yellow Aircraft website and could not locate any F22's.
Hey Shok Well I'm hoping I'll find a Skymaster through Wolfpack. If
not, it looks like I'll be looking for a Christen Diffusion. Seems I'm having trouble
trying to find one of those as well. Weasel, I see the page, the bird looks good, so
are you selling one?
Regards
P.S. If I don't hear from anyone in here, Merry Christmas.[8D]

The Yellow website is out of date and of littles use. If you are interested the only way to find out about the kit is to call Charles at the phone numebr listed on the site.

Merry Christmas,

Dave

(Not a Yellow rep, I just like my F22)

really I think the JetCentral Falcon is too small for the Yellow Raptor.

It's a bigger plane, P120 minimum or a JC Super Eagle

Thanks Shok,
Your right, I found the dimensions on the Yellow F22 and it is a big bird. I'm just waiting to hear from Wolfpack and I'll go from there. Anybody else keep'em coming. Any info is appreciated.
Thanks and Regards[8D]

Too small for a Skymaster too...it is 35lbs ready for take off.

I went through this exercise a year ago, and here is a comparison:

Almost 10 Lbs of that is fuel...you could leave out the center tank and save a couple of pounds I guess....

Also note that the Extreme Jets F-22 is no longer available..It was when I built this chart, that is why it is in there.....

One possibility if you can find one, would be the Craig Aviation YF-22......

Guys,

I need to clear-up something. I have received several PM's and emails about me being a Team Feibao member and trying to push Skymaster products. What I am trying to do is help a friend unload some old inventory so that he can be done with Skymaster like me. I have sold all of my inventory and have moved on to bigger and better things.

Thank You for your understanding.

To Wolfpack,
Hello Sir, so I guess your friend no longer had any inventory on the F-22?

To Everyone,
Also, Is the FB F-22 a good aircraft or should I fear what I hear. I had an FB Velox and though It was a nice flying plane at speed I lost it on landing approach due to an unusual stall characteristic with the airframe. Input on the Fei Bao F-22 would be appreciated as well.

Thanks all,
Regards[8D]

Although nobody will confirm it, the feiboa f-22 is very, very similar to the old skymaster f-22..even down to the hardware. I suspect that FB used to manufacture them for SM...however, the history doesn't matter...The SM raptor flies great, so I would suspect that the feiboa one would fly the same (with the same setup....)

I don’t know the real history between Skymaster and the Fei Bao F-22, but I would say they are similar. I currently have the Skymaster F-22 and lost the canopy during a flight. Because Skymaster no longer sells the F-22 anymore. I had to order a replacement F-22 canopy from Fei Bao. Perfect fit….

A few people were saying that the F-22 had problem with fluttering at high speeds, so when I built my F-22 , I replaced all the hardware with Hanger 9 titanium pro links control rods, heavy duty ball links, clevis, reinforced the servo pockets and used Tam’s servo mounts throughout.
There are a few other mods that can be done like the landing gear position (closer to the CG), and reinforcing the hatch pins. RCU has a few build threads on the F-22, check them out.
Besides my canopy detaching during flight, I’ve read a few other people have lost their canopy also, so one of my winter project will be to add and additional latch to the front of the canopy.

Either one is a nice F-22, but remember their Chinese ARF… All ARF’s need some tweaking. Every other thread on RCU is a ARF build requiring some kind of mod or part replacements. It's just part of the ARF life[:@]

Default RE: Question on F22 Raptor availability

Thanks Guys,
I have received notification of two original F-22's in stock left in stock by a retailer, but according to them, these two kits were produced at the Fei Bao factory, before Skymaster had their own factory??!! I am awaiting further notification on this as I am quite curious. I was recently offered a good deal on an original Cermark Viper Jet which I am considering. I still want an F-22, but with no luck thus far, I may be headed this other route. I hear the Viper Jet is a well proven airframe. As far as Fei Bao is concerned, I had a Fei Bao Velox that flew great at speed, but was lost during landing approach due to some weird stall habit it had which led me to the questioning on the quality of some of their other jets. The factory matter may answer how that new canopy fit so well on RC JET FLYER's Jet? Until then.
Regards,
Emilio[8D]

Hello everybody,
Well, it seems that the F22 is a dying breed. Once popular by many companies and now only sold by a few. I have since purchaced a Cermark Viper Jet, but would still like to keep my eyes open for a Skymaster F22 kit if there are any left out there? Thanks all for your help.
