Making sliding Tygon onto brass easier???
Guys - I was having a problem with the main tanks on my 15 emptying unevenly so I decided to take the tanks out to check everything. Now I'm trying to install the Tygon back onto the brass fittings and it is extraordinarily difficult to get them to slide back on smoothly. Is there some sort of lubricant you guys use to make the fuel tubing slide on to the brass easier?
Thanks in advance

Give the end of the tygon a bit of a chew and you'll find it will slip on the fittings a lot easier.
I can't take credit for this though. The tip was given to me by Jason when helping me do the install on my bandit

Depending on HOW tight the fit is, I use one or both of these methods:
1) A small drop of 123 Oil on the brass part before slipping the fuel tube over it.
2) Heat the fuel tube with a heat gun, then force the tubing over a small awl / Phillips screwdriver to pre-stretch it slightly. Let it cool slightly, remove the tube from the awl, slip it over the brass tube and then hit it lightly with the heat gun to make it shrink back down again.

I've had good success with a quick blast of heat from the Monokote heat gun and then immediately slide them on to the brass tubing. Just be careful to not use too much heat.

Spence,
I have used the CA kicker method that Todd mentioned for years, you don't need to heat the tubing. What did you find?? Was i right?? was one line longer??.. Spence, your Jet flys awesome, thanks so much for letting me get aflight on it, it was a blast!!!!!

I recently found out if I use a fiber or plastic pointed rod to spread the tubing when heating it instead of metal the plastic rod doesn't suck the heat out of the tubing so quick and I don't have to heat the tubing as hot when I used a metal pointed rod.

Guys, again - thanks so much for the insight. I used the CA kicker method and it worked perfectly. Scott, funny thing is all lines were of equal length!!!
Oh well, gunna fly at Gilman next weekend with the boys - you should come down.
Thanks again
