Default SKYMASTER 1/5 F86 : Any news ?

Hello,

Does anybody of you have news from this kit ? Who fly a F86 1/5 Skymaster ?
This is a bit strange to not have news from this nice kit on the forum.

Here, in France, sompe people are a bit worried about the structural strenght of the "18mm carbon" wing pipe.
Thank you
Jean Fi

Hi JeanFi.

An 18 mm carbon rod in itself can take a lot of loads before braking. However 18 mm is thin and under high loads ( 20 kgs at 10 Gs is 200 kgs ) this could act as a blade. The risk would be to see the rod going through the wings. From what I've seen this carbon rod is housed in a thin glass fiber sleeve.

Anton could you show to the concerned people how the wing structure and specifically the female sleeves are made ? Material, thickness etc...

How have the landing gear efforts been modelised ? How are they supposed to transmit to the fuselage structure ? ( fuse points, efforts transmission paths etc... )
How was the structure tested on the long term ? How does the fuselage and spars do after 200 cycles ?

Thanks.
